Welcome Letter from PALS PTO President

September 28, 2016

Welcome back PALS parents, teachers, and students after what was hopefully a fun and exciting summer break!

My name is Scott Marshall, and I would first like to introduce myself as your PTO President for the 2016-17 school year. My family and I have been residents of Walnut Creek for the past 9 years and currently have a child in both the Level 1 & 2 programs. We started in the PALS program two years ago for probably the same reasons most of you did: the small community, the classroom participation, the multi-grade classes, etc. This is my first year as president, and I am excited about the opportunities we have ahead for our children and our school.

I would also like to welcome Robin Reese, one of our Level III teachers. She is a longtime teacher at Parkmead and a former PALS parent. Welcome Robin!

Our next school-wide parent meeting is October 3rd at 7 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room. This year we are continuing to combine our parent group meeting for PALS and our Parkmead Community School parents. It is a good meeting to get a pulse on school happenings and get involved in the planning and decision making process for our school.

I look forward to seeing each one of you in the classrooms, at the fundraisers, and at all of the events that make our program so extraordinary! The PALS community and culture of volunteerism is and always has been what makes PALS great.

Scott Marshall
